Having a negative approach to life sometimes gets you stressful as you tend to pile up your problems in life, thus, increasing your emotional load. Often, this emotional overload will have negative effects. You turn yourself into a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. When you explode, you often do things that are very harmful to you and to the people around you (i.e., violence, aggression, and the like). Emotional overload also tends to slow us down, reducing our productivity, thus, you are pulled down by your negative approach to life.
What is the difference between an optimistic and a pessimistic person? There are many differences that separate the two different terms. To simplify things up, we will take a half-filled glass of water as an example. If you are an optimistic person, you will see the half-filled glass of water as half full (focusing on the space occupied by the water). But if you are a pessimistic person, then you will see the half-filled water as half empty (focusing on the space not occupied by water).
How you can overcome such negativity? Psychologists had formulated ways on how you can overcome you negativity. This ways are very psychological in nature. It helps you approach your life the positive way. This article discusses some of these things that you can do in order to have an optimistic view of life. Read carefully because each of these things is very essential if you want to have a positive outlook to life.
What to Do
There are things that you must consider in order to have a positive outlook in life. They are:
Goal setting – Negative people often tend to see things that they cannot do. They think that there are certain things in life that they cannot accomplish. In order to get rid this way of thinking, set a goal that can easily be achieved. Take small bites! Make sure that you can easily achieve this goal that you have set. After you have accomplished something, then try setting a goal that is difficult from your previous goal, one degree higher. If you do this, you will have a momentum, accomplishing even harder goals in life, thus, ou will have a positive approach in life.
Supply yourself with oxygen – Oxygen tends to increase brain productivity by increasing the flow of information through the brain cells. It also increases the number of brain cells, making your brain healthier. One of the reasons why people think negatively is because they have a weak brain, thus, supplying yourself with oxygen is a must in order to have a positive outlook in life. You can do this by doing physical exercises (i.e., aerobics, drinking plenty of water, walking, riding your bike, swimming, and the like).
Have a healthy diet – Nutrients tend to fuel our body. It gives us energy that we need in order to do the activities we often do. Negative people are unhealthy. They approach life negatively because they do not have the energy that they need in order to live it. You can have sufficient nutrients by having a healthy diet. Eating nutrient-rich foods will supply us with enough energy in order to live life more meaningfully! Follow the food pyramid in order to be guided on which food is to nutritious to take.
Reversal
Although pessimism will have negative effects, it is sometimes necessary that you must employ pessimism in order to have a positive approach in life. Soldiers are fed with the notion “expect the worst!†But they are fed with such negative notion in order to have an optimistic view of life (for they are also fed with the notion of “but hope for the best!â€). Just know when you need to apply such pessimistic view in order for us not to misuse it.

Worry is a psychic disease that vanishes when action is taken.
First, decide what you want.
Second, decide you are willing to pay the price to make it happen, then PAY THAT PRICE!
There is never something for nothing. Mother Nature does not work this way.
Your first question to yourself was probably the same as mine. What do I want? From my own personal history I have found if I work for “a cause†and not “for a living†It takes care of itself.
Now you say “what is my cause?†Easy, what are you passionate about?
What are you more passionate about than any other thing in the world?
Remember the focus of your attention and concerns must be moved away from yourself and always moving toward others (giving).
By helping others through your “major definite purpose†get what they want, you will get what you want and more.

My friend Tony says “purpose is stronger than outcome, if you are committed there is always a wayâ€.
Me, simply put, Giving is living.
