Enterovirus 71 (EV71) caused 26 children’s deaths in China

An intestinal virus known as “Enterovirus 71” has caused 26 children deaths in china and most of them took place in the province of Anhui where almost 600 new cases were found on this Sunday.Children are rapidly getting infected with the disease and still one can’t see the end of that trouble that is on rise with every passing day.During the weekend china issued a countrywide alert to control the disease as it also spreading in many other parts of china.

Local authorities and healthcare officials have been countrywide instructed to report all new cases during next 24 hours.And it is expected that all new and previous cases will be reported before the allotted time.

The local authorities are being alleged that they tried to cover that reports, the local authorities are also becoming the victim of severe criticism in china as they reported these deaths without any serious intentions and didn’t show any concern to these serious deaths.

The epidemic was indicated during March this year in the city of Fuyang but no report was made until more than a month.During 2003 china has already shown incompetence in controlling SARS and now authorities are quite insightful to any kind of disease speared or outbreak in the country.

According to Hans Troedsson who is the representative of WHO (World Health Organization).The delay in reporting of these cases was because of that fact that the local authorities were not aware the cause behind these different cases of infections and they delayed that reports because of that very reason.

Enterovirus 71 (EV71) Neurological Diseases is not a common disease but it is very serious and complicated sort of disease.EV71 a virus that can be factor behind foot, hand and mouth disease.Although the disease that are related to food, hand and mouth disease are very common and their outbreaks use to occur but of Enterovirus 71 neurological disease is not very common and almost occur only in the children.If this disease happens under children two years of age, it causes Paralysis and among children aged 2-5 years meningitis is common.
