To become familiarize with New York City’s trans fat ban, changes in recipes are being made by many fast food restaurants. Some revised menu at major fast food chains are as follow.
Dunkin Donut has ditched using somewhat hydrogenated oil in favor of trans fat free mix of soybean, cottonseed and palm oil.
In Kentucky Fried Chicken, trans fats from cooking oil have been instantly banned and also have been detached from Kentucky’s pot pie and biscuits.
The one style of pizza that had trans fats, has also been made free of trans fats by Pizza Hut.
During the last year, McDonald’s stopped using trans fat to cook French fries. Now it has also announced to make cookies and apple pie free of it in New York.
Similarly, Burger King is no more using trans fat in biscuits, fries and apple pie in its New York locations and also planning to remove these trans fats from other recipes countrywide.
A new trans-fat-free version of chicken pot pie and cornbread is being tested by Boston Market in New York. The new recipe will be followed countrywide if things are well, Boston Market spokesperson stated.
