I've tried every possible sun screen. I recently have heard of a sun pill called Heliocare and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it? I've read information on "kiwi drug" and was wondering if anyone has used these pills? thanks

To getbrown.

Staying in a shade and wearing long sleeves is the first protection against sunburn and skin cancer. Relying on skin tan may be as much wrong as relying on a sunscreen alone.

Many people who can't avoid sun from different reasons can still have a benefit from sunscreen because ultraviolet rays are those that are really harmful while modern sunscreens not containing mentioned harmful ingredients should not be problematic.

We promote moderate ultraviolet exposure (tanning in a non-burning fashion) as the Ultimate Sunscreen. This article does much to remind people that no 'artifically created' product in application- topical or otherwise- can possibly be described as 'safe'. To be safe, an activity must be guaranteed to do no harm. Commercial sunscreen products can no more be labelled 'safe' than driving in a car or swimming in the ocean. In fact, we are reminded that many of the ingredients and processes used to create artifical barriers to the skin's natural absorption of ultraviolet radiation pose a risk to health themselves. Compelling research shows that use of chemical sunscreens actually increases the risk of melanoma skin cancer. For those who can develop a tan, through moderate and non-burning exposure, the answer is a natural tan which provides an SPF of at least 2 or 3, combined with sensible clothing and shade protection, and topical sunscreens as the very last resort. Don't believe the sunscreen hype!
