When the lower jaw acquires a square shape, a person starts looking older. As we grow the lower jaw grows too. This continued growth of the lower jaw starts creating a square shape of jaw line in a slow process. At a certain stage this shape completely turns to almost a square and we start looking older.

A recently concluded research establishes that looking older has no relationship with the wrinkles, sagging skin, and droopy eyelids. “The shape of the lower jaw plays an important role in the perception of youth and can be a tell-tale sign of someone’s age“, said Joel Pessa.

Joel Pessa, the lead researcher conducted this study that has been published in the January 2007 issue of β€œPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery”, the official medical journal of the’ American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)’.
