Wednesday, June 18— The psoriasis drug Enbrel has been recommended by the panel of U.S Food and Drug Administration advisory panel. The medicine has been approved for children who suffer moderate to severe forms of the skin disease.
In a 7-5 vote with one refraining, the medical experts stated that the drug appeared effective but they also expressed concerns about increased risks of severe infections like tuberculosis and melanoma.
Another drug manufactured by Amgen has already been approved to cure rheumatoid arthritis in children in adults as well as in children while psoriasis (a skin disease that is marked by red scaly patches) only in adults.
